Bible Study

We invite you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon:

Sermon Outline

  • Jesus born of blood
  • Jesus born of water
  • Jesus testified by the Spirit.

Application

  • There is no greater question in life than to answer the question who is Jesus? How do you answer that question?
  • Do you see Jesus as majestic, unapproachable, Holy, or maybe on the other side of that spectrum as a friend or good shepherd?
  • This week we close the series where we looked at 1 John.  What has stood out to you from our look at this text? What have been your thoughts, what themes have you seen, and what will you take with you?
  • Two of the most common words in 1 John are the words “abide” and “love” They are used almost once every 5 verses. In what ways do you abide in God’s love?
  • Let Jesus be present to you in and through his written word. We have an SAPC reading plan we’ll be following this year and would invite you to join us as we read God’s word together. Pick up a copy on Sunday or download it here.
  • Because of this sermon, how has your life changed, matured, or challenged?
  • Who will you tell and what because of what you just heard?
  • How would you explain this to a small child?

The outline and application questions are intended for your further reflection and action upon the weekend message. They are also designed to facilitate discussion and accountability within your Life Group community.
