Bible Study

We invite you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon:

Sermon Outline

  1. Presence before power
  2. Power through participation

Application

  • What is the relationship between the presence of God and the power of God? Why is the order of operation here important?
  • When was the last time you invited God the Holy Spirit to make you aware of his presence and fill your life? Maybe today is a good day to do that. (and every day!)
  • When was the last time you were in a place that required God to move in power? Look for those places he’s inviting you into. Is there someone who you could pray for and invite to Alpha so that you could see his power on display?
  • Let Jesus be present to you in and through his written word. We have a SAPC reading plan we’ll be following this year and would invite you to join us as we read God’s word together. Pick up a copy on Sunday or download it here.
  • Because of this sermon, how has your life changed, matured, or challenged?
  • Who will you tell and what because of what you just heard?
  • How would you explain this to a small child?

The outline and application questions are intended for your further reflection and action upon the weekend message. They are also designed to facilitate discussion and accountability within your Life Group community.
