Bible Study

We invite you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon:

Sermon Outline

  • Love God and Neighbor
  • Who is my Neighbor
  • Story of seeing and compassion

Application

  • What does compassion look like in your life? Does it come easy to have compassion or is it difficult? Why do you think that is?
  • When you think of your neighbor is that a big group (the 8 Billion people in the world?) or a smaller group at the exclusion of others? How does Jesus answer that question?
  • Lenten Discipline: What is one thing you can stop doing to slow down and be more compassionate?
  • Think of the nine-square grid. If your house is the middle square who lives around you? Do you know their names? Could you tell someone where they might work?
  • Let Jesus be present to you in and through his written word. We have a SAPC reading plan we’ll be following this year and would invite you to join us as we read God’s word together. Pick up a copy on Sunday or download it here.
  • Because of this sermon, how has your life changed, matured, or challenged?
  • Who will you tell and what because of what you just heard?
  • How would you explain this to a small child?

The outline and application questions are intended for your further reflection and action upon the weekend message. They are also designed to facilitate discussion and accountability within your Life Group community.
